Post-Acute Brain Injury Rehabilitation

After a TBI survivor has been discharged from the hospital and from an acute rehabilitation facility, one of the most valuable next steps, considered to be a gold standard for TBI care, is post-acute brain injury rehabilitation (PABI) depending on the severity of the brain injury. The goals of a PABI facility are to continue to focus on rehabilitation of the brain injury as well as on coping and daily-living skills, behavior management, and other proficiencies related to the longer-term challenges of a brain injury.
