Sub-Acute Rehabilitation

Patients who have been discharged from acute brain injury or post-acute brain injury rehabilitation facilities may not be ready or able to begin a day treatment or outpatient rehab program. One option to consider is rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility for your loved one or friend. While there are no skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) in East Texas who specialize in traumatic brain injury, and very few who do in Texas, you can search using Google on the term “skilled nursing facility” and specify the city or town in which you are interested. Call and make an appointment to tour the facility or facilities you are considering and ask about their experience in caring and providing rehabilitation for TBI survivors.
