Mission, Vision, and Values
Mission
HeadUp TBI East Texas recognizes that no one is prepared for the overwhelming impact of a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Our Mission is to provide access to knowledge about vital resources in East Texas and beyond, as well as community support in order for individuals with a TBI and their families and friends to begin the journey toward a new wellness after a traumatic brain injury.
Vision
All patients in East Texas touched by traumatic brain injury will have access to the most current and effective treatments available. They will be cared for by medical and healthcare providers using a team approach in order to provide the highest standards in care and recovery. All TBI survivors and their loved ones will have a strong support system to help them through the various stages of healing – with the realization that one day, advances in care will lead to a time where traumatic brain injuries are no longer permanently longer life-altering.
Values
Determination – to empower individuals with a traumatic brain injury and their families and loved ones with the knowledge necessary to find new avenues of care, to achieve new goals of recovery, and to support their efforts.
Community – to help our East Texas TBI community recognize they are not alone, and they are stronger united together on this journey.
Respect – to educate others to see the diversity of challenges faced by individuals with a traumatic brain injury and to understand that while the experiences may be different, the ultimate goals are similar.
