This and every year, at least 144,000 Texans will sustain a traumatic brain injury, and those are only the reported cases – many go undiagnosed. Almost 6,000 of these individuals will be permanently disabled, joining more than 380,000 Texans currently living with a TBI-related disability – many of them right here in East Texas.

Almost every day in East Texas, someone’s family member, friend, or neighbor experiences a traumatic brain injury (TBI) – bringing devastation for which you can’t possibly prepare. This stark reality is why HeadUp TBI East Texas exists – a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide comprehensive education, resources, and financial support for those families impacted by a TBI.
